Thank you for navigating to our frequently asked questions and order policies page. We hope we have designed our preorder website to be an intuitive and easy to use experience for you. With that in mind, there are some common questions about pre-orders and how they work at Interstellar BBQ that you may have. We have answered a few below:

How Do I order?

1st, choose your pickup date and pickup time from our date picker (to the right on desktop, below on your phone). You will be taken to our menu where you can add items to your cart. Add items to your cart, then click the cart icon in the top right corner of the screen to be taken to your cart and begin the checkout process. Enter your email, then your credit card information, and click pay. After your order is complete, you will receive an email confirmation from us. When you 

Can I order for same-day pickup?

Interstellar BBQ does not offer same-day ordering through our preorder website. Dates become available 30 business days out on our calendar and the first day available for ordering will always be roughly 72 hours from today. We do offer to-go orders through our service line. We encourage you to get in line early so you have as many options available as possible and you can get through the line quickly. 

Things to know about Preordering:

We offer only sliced meats by the pound for preorders. Our minimum order is 4 pounds, maximum per order is 30 pounds of meat. You must order 4 pounds of meat in order to check out, as we do not accept preorders for only sides/desserts/merch. 

All orders include pickles, pickled red onions, red and mustard BBQ sauces and bread proportional to your order size. Additional loaves of bread and bottles of sauce are available for purchase on our menu page. Orders are assembled to be hot and ready for your chosen pickup time. If you anticipate arriving more than 15 minutes after your time slot, please give us a call. When you arrive at the restaurant, enter through our right side double exit doors labeled "Preorder Pickups", skipping the line. Take a right into our bar area, and let our bartender know that you are here to pick up and your name. PLEASE NOTE, PREORDERS ARE FOR TAKE-OUT ONLY.

Items are available for purchase as long as they are in stock in our online system. Popular meats such as Peach Tea Glazed Pork Belly and Brisket sell out quickly, so place your order as soon as possible in order to guarantee your order. Sometimes, an item may sell out or the quantity you selected may sell out while you are still shopping. In that case, our system will direct you to remove those items which are no longer available on the selected date from your cart. Having an item in your cart does not guarantee that item will be available when you check out. Only through payment and confirmation of your order are the items in your cart set aside for you. 

If a date is not selectable, we are sold out or not accepting orders for that date.

*Note* There is a 10 minute time frame to place your order once you select your pickup date and time you would like. This is in order to ensure that menu items are not held in a potential customer's cart for indefinite times, preventing them from being ordered by other guests. If you do not complete your order in 10 minutes, the cart will empty and return you to the home page. 

How much meat should I order?

We suggest ordering between 1/2 and 3/4 pound of total meat per person, rounding up or down to the nearest pound. Many folks will eat much more. An example of around a pound of meat would be one sausage link, a couple of slices of brisket and 2 pork ribs.

Do I have to order 4 pounds of meat?

Our preorder system is designed to be a premium service for our guests who want the option to skip the line, and the peace of mind to know that their food will be set aside for them. Preordering is a great option for parties, business lunches, tailgate, weddings and more, but we still believe there is no experience the same as coming up to the counter and having a tray of barbecue sliced right in front of you. For that reason, If you would like to order sandwiches, tacos, specials or just a nice slice of brisket and some of our complimentary ranch style beans, please come visit us in the restaurant. We would love to provide an out-of-this-world lunch.

What if I want to order more than 30 pounds of meat or want to order for a date months from now?

If you are planning an event that will take place beyond 30 business days out, need to place a large order over 30 pounds, or have special requests/questions, please email or call us. We would be happy to discuss your needs with you.

Is the 18% Service Charge mandatory?

As preordering is a premium service Interstellar offers, we have a minimum 18% service charge for each order. If you would like to add beyond that, there is a dropdown box with options to do so before you check out in the cart. We appreciate your support! 

Where are the free beans?

Our free ranch style beans are a favorite of our customers. We offer beans for sale in pint, quart, and tray sizes for preorders. Free beans are still always available for our dine-in guests only. 

Order Cancelation Policy:

When you place a pre-order, we are cooking your food specifically for you. Any proteins/meats changes or cancellations within 48 hours of your specific pick up date will be non refundable. Sides may be adjusted within reason. If you have changes to the amounts needed for your order please contact us as soon as possible by calling or emailing.
